If I knew at the time that the devil was in the details, I would have played with the devil more at the time rather than after the fact.
It’s always more fun at the time.
I took the above shot as an after thought. I liked the way the light was reflecting off the mottled surface of shallow running water over a gravel bed, but that’s not what I was after. I didn’t give the shot any more thought till after I opened it and started playing with it.
That’s when I noticed what I had missed.
I should have spent the time while out there zooming in on the details, rather than doing that on a computer screen.
I still like the details I’ve selected and cropped out of the original, but I’ll consider this a lesson learned.
Regardless of what I’m after, take what’s presented.
